Sweet Potato and Peanut Cuits

"These cookies contain flours (oats and spelt flour) with a high protein and fiber content , which are easier to digest compared to other flours. The addition of sweet potato, rich in fiber and beta-carotene, adds an antioxidant action to these cookies and the fiber helps promote healthy intestinal flora. Sweet potato

Sweet potatoes are a healthy source of several nutrients that can help promote different aspects of your pet’s well-being — including beneficial phytochemicals. According to some studies, sweet potatoes contain phytochemicals with “multifaceted actions,” such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, immunomodulatory, antiulcer, and anticancer properties.

One tablespoon of sweet potatoes provides 1.94 milligrams (mg) of beta-carotene, a powerful antioxidant that may help protect your pet from oxidative damage, reducing the risk of chronic diseases like cancer, obesity, and heart disease. It may also help reduce the risk of cognitive dysfunction, as well as skin and eye problems.

Sweet potatoes contain approximately 2.63 mg of vitamin C per tablespoon. This vitamin can help protect your pet from free radical damage, boosting immune health , and reducing the risk of cognitive decline. It also plays an important role in metabolism and maintaining healthy skin, bones, and blood vessels.

Sweet potatoes also contain 0.51 grams of dietary fiber per tablespoon, which can help improve your pet's immune health by promoting healthy gut flora . Fiber also helps reduce the risk of gastrointestinal problems by stimulating motility and improving intestinal transit time.

Spelt Flour

Spelt is an older variety of wheat (red wheat) originating from southwest Asia. Although it is very similar to the well-known wheat flour, spelt has a much higher nutritional value . It has a higher protein and fiber content and is therefore an easier food to digest .

It is rich in B vitamins (mainly vitamin B3) and vitamin E and minerals such as phosphorus, magnesium, potassium and calcium. Due to its high fiber content, this flour helps reduce LDL cholesterol levels and increase HDL cholesterol levels in the blood, and helps control the blood glucose index and the absorption of glucose by cells.

This is also a flour with a lower gluten content, when compared to white wheat flour, so it is recommended when the aim is to reduce gluten in the diet.

Peanut

Peanuts are an ingredient that doesn't offer many benefits to your pet's diet. Although they are highly appreciated by dogs, they are an ingredient that contains high levels of fat and calories .

- For this reason, you should always pay attention to the quantities and types of peanut butter you give your pet.

"Our peanut butter contains only peanuts and is produced by us , making it a safe ingredient.

The amount used in our recipe does not have a significant or negative value, as it is not (and should not be) the main meal in your pet's diet." - Benny's Cuits
